New sofa damaged

The sofa is only 6 months old and is worth 8000:- new. See picture 2 for the damage (the wood cracked). It can probably be repaired and used again. The mattress is in great condition. It’s on the bottom floor and I can help move it, otherwise 2 people are needed.
